ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Assistance

The ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code can be a source of guidance or frustration. The staff of Niantic Bay Engineering, LLC are experienced in the workings of Section I (Power Boilers), Section II (Materials), Section VIII (Unfired Pressure Vessels), Section IX (Welding) and in the Post Construction Codes including PCC-3, Inspection Planning.

We have been involved with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Committees since 1995, and have assisted manufacturers, owners and users with issues including weld qualification, weld classification, component thickness requirements, post weld heat treat requirements, and alternative examinations including the use of ultrasonic examination methods for weld acceptance.

We provide assistance regarding questions about these Codes, including developing inquiries regarding specific Code language. We can develop Code Cases to address your specific issues where the Code does not adequately address the need of all concerned parties. We can also assist in managing the proposal through the various ASME Code Committees.

We have also provide training on ASME Section I Power Boilers and on the fabrication and examination requirements for ASME Section VIII. We also provide training on the use of ASME Post Construction Code PCC-3, Inspection Planning and the use of risk in developing inspection plans.
